We are a group of parents/carers who are home educating our children or considering home education. Our reasons are extremely varied. Some children have left school and others have never been to school. Our aim is to welcome all home educators.
There are activities such as sports, swimming, French and drama often available for children from 4 – teenage. All-age meetings are arranged every so often. For practical reasons many of our activities are aimed at a particular age-group, although the age range given should generally be regarded as a guideline. It is always worth contacting the event's organiser if you think that a particular event would be suitable for your child.
As well as regular activities, visits to stately homes, museums, historical sites and farms are sometimes arranged on an ad hoc basis by families. These are all advertised via the internet on our yahoo group.
As in all communities, families also meet up outside the organised activities. This enables small friendship groups to develop. There are a number of these groups that meet informally and are not advertised. Contact Morag. |
