The government has called for evidence of different types of out-of-school educational settings, prior to a full consultation on proposals for registration and inspection. The document states that the proposals are not intended to apply to home education, but it seems clear that some home education groups would be affected, e.g. by the proposed threshold of 6-8 hours per week intensive education.
Trustees have prepared a response (the text of which may be downloaded below) and hope that many home educators will already have had the opportunity to respond.
The time for response to the call for evidence has been limited, but trustees hope that when the full consultation takes place there will be more time for prior debate.
